How It Works
A deadbolt is your home's primary line of defense against forced entry, and not all deadbolts — or installations — are equal. Builder-grade Grade 3 deadbolts are common and cheap; we install and recommend ANSI Grade 1 for most residential doors, the highest residential security rating, anchored with 3-inch screws into the door frame stud rather than just the trim.
After installation we verify the bolt extends fully, engages the strike plate correctly, and that the door closes and locks smoothly without binding — an incorrectly installed deadbolt can end up less secure than none at all.
